Here comes the world’s 1,517th annual Valentine’s Day! You might expect a project called Square Inches of Love to appreciate the holiday…and we certainly do. We also love creativity and children and these go together well on this holiday! Art education and appreciation are key elements in the healthy development of one’s being at any age. So, we went took to surfing the waves of some favorite blogs and websites + a few new ones to find some great Valentine Art Projects for Kids (…or the young at heart)! Here are some finds to highlight! (We don’t believe in stealing images from others, so…you’ll have to click through to see them.)
Lip and Moustache Lollipops - found at Blonde Invitations & Stationary
Way simple! Download a PDF of cut out lips and a moustache, slide the stem
of a lollipop through and – we’d add – take fun photos!
Printable Valentines - found at Skip to my Lou
Sure, there are lots of printables. We think the butterflies are particularly
cute though and simple!
Valentine’s Day Cards - found at Grace & Ivy
Skip the card shop and DIY! Scrap fabric, cupcake liners, paint swatches,
hand tracings, or simple downloadables.
Stuffed Paper Hearts - found at The Scrap Shoppe Blog
Turn a simple grocery or lunch sack or other bag and WITH other bags
…into a crafty little beauty!
Crayon Heart Valentines - found at Whisper Berry
Gorgeous twist on simply melting old crayons into the shape of a heart!
Thumbprint Valentines found at Brown Paper Packages
Take your hitchhiking tool, some paper, tape, etc and show “thumbbody”
you love them?
Valentine’s Day Luv Puppy Puppet - found at Classified Moms
Puppy Love from a paper sack and a variety of construction paper hearts!
See how they “shape up”…
Tic Tac Toe Hearts - from alphamom
Build off the old folding paper / cutting the half-heart to make Tic Tac Toe.
And, a creative idea for game pieces, too.
Hope you all find something wonderfully enjoyable to create this Valentine’s Day! Consider scanning or taking photos of your creations to upload it into the Square Inches of Love project so they may be shared with online site visitors and future real world tour visitors! When the exhibit comes to a town near you, you can then visit and find your creative contribution!
